Hilary Davies leads exciting and memorable singing workshops in schools. Drawing her repertoire and influences from countries across the world, incorporating dance, rhythm and movement.

Hilary Davies is a qualified workshop leader and accomplished singer in her own right. She has been an Arts worker since 1991 and has led harmony singing workshops and Community Choirs since 1999. Her teaching style is informal, with warmth and infectious enthusiasm.  She is a member of the Natural Voice Practitioners Network.

Whether it’s for a Global Awareness week, a Multi-cultural Day or just for the sheer pleasure of singing something different, Hilary’s World Music workshops bring the beauty and excitement of world song to the classroom.

Songs are drawn from a wide repertoire in many different languages from countries across the world including Africa, Australia, New Zealand, America, the Balkans, the Caribbean, Europe and of course Great Britain. Where appropriate they are accompanied by dance and movement. Workshops are designed to meet the specific needs of each school.

Hilary also offers songs in a wide variety of a cappella styles. Traditional and contemporary songs, chants, rounds, gospel and modern popular songs, and harmony singing in 2, 3 and 4+ parts.

World Music
Hilary Davies is leader of three Community Choirs in Worcester, Tewkesbury  and Cheltenham.

As part of the schools programme she is able to offer singing workshops in schools which culminate in a performance with one of her Community Choirs.

This not only gives the children the enjoyment of learning songs from around the world but also the experience of singing with a larger adult choir who fill out the harmonies, and the opportunity to hear other world music sung by the choir. This experience has been greatly enjoyed by several schools in Worcestershire. The choirs have really enjoyed it too.
The concert was truly magnificent
- wonderful in every way!

We were really uplifted by the wide range of music with such focused energy and obvious enjoyment, and at a truly professional standard.
With Community Choirs
“.....it went exceptionally well, the kids all threw themselves into it and it was well received by all present.
“It was a pleasure to see children who do not usually involve themselves in class music activities, being carried away with the songs and thoroughly enjoying themselves”.
